  3. Reminder: MIT One-mile race walk on Saturday, Feb 13, 2010 at 10:30 AM

Because of the size of Saturday’s MIT meet – the largest of the season there, and the last of this season’s indoor home meets – the one-mile race walk will be at 10:30 a.m. Anything later will be battling crowds of runners warming-up.

  4. I am proposing a group walk and lunch on Sunday 8/15/10 on the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail followed by lunch at Bertucci’s. We would meet at 11 AM at the Ginger Ale Plaza parking lot near Chelmsford Center. The walk would be any distance up to 10 miles but I am suggesting a maximum of 5 miles so we can all have lunch together. The walk would be at any pace you want, in any walking style you want. You may racewalk but you don’t have to. This is not a race, just a chance to get together for a workout, some good food, and a chance to socialize. It would be wonderful to see some of our club members who do not usually come to the judged races.

  5. The GBTC 3K on Jan. 23rd and the Eastern Masters 3K on Jan. 30th should be listed on our calendar.

  6. Hey Race Walkers!

It is for a great cause and a good excuse to warm up the body and legs before a big meal.

  10. Will there be a Brookline racewalk in May? What date and time?

  11. I was wondering why there are some religious holidays on our calendar. Do they have anything to do with racewalking?

  12. Hi Bill,
We list the religious holidays so that people who might want to list a particular event might decide to not hold it on a major religious holiday. Holding a race on Easter, eg., tends to cut down on attendance.

  13. So Christmas and Easter (and Thanksgiving, though not religious) should also be listed but they are not.

  14. Just got our power back after Sandy yesterday, so just seeing the question on CT RW race now…we held it this morning Nov 4, a beautiful day for racing but too few could make it due to the aftermath of the storm, only 5. I did send the race info to NEW about two moths ago and a reminder two weeks ago…maybe it doesn’t get through??? if not is there someone I should send info to for the future. Thanks and sorry if you guys didn’t know we were having it, we missed you. Is it part of the New England Grand Prix???

  15. It is getting closer for planning the One Hour race walk in July. Please let me know as soon as we get a day nailed down for this. If finding a venue is an issue I can ask some of the High Schools in Eastern MA with good tracks if we can host the event there.
